I collaborated with Studio One, an agency based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, to modernise the agency's visual identity, create a cohesive brand presence, and enhance online visibility through a bespoke custom-code website.
Logo Analysis
The initial phase involved an in-depth analysis of the existing logo. The agency's original logo was assessed for its visual elements, colour scheme, and typeface. Conversations with the agency founders revealed the need for a more developed and professional-looking logo to embody the agency's evolution and multifaceted services.
Logo Redesign
I thoroughly analysed the structure and design of the logo and identified its weaknesses. I created a new logo that improves the original while staying true to the four fundamental principles: Branding, Design, Digital and Signage. The logo mark was meticulously crafted and aligned with the Montserrat typeface, designed by Julieta Ulanovsky from Argentina.
The text was optically kerned to avoid black spots and loss of readability. Visual weights were balanced to create a solid logo that seamlessly balances minimalism with the agency's forward-thinking approach.
Social Media
A three-pictures-in-a-row strategy was devised to introduce the new brand identity on Instagram, celebrating the 18th birthday of the agency. The three pieces work both together and separately. As a result, these visually compelling posts showcased the agency's reinvigorated brand while fostering audience interaction and feedback.
Collateral Designs
During the rebranding process, I updated the visual identity of various items, such as cups, umbrellas, and notebooks. Additionally, I worked with the team to develop the vehicular graphic, which proved to be one of the most complicated design pieces due to its intricate nature.
Web Development
Simultaneously, I created a bespoke custom-code website aligned with the rebrand. The website aimed to encapsulate the agency's creativity, innovation, and diverse services. Web performance optimisation techniques were employed to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience, regardless of the population of videos and animated resources. The site cohesively integrated the new visual identity while incorporating dynamic elements and clear navigation in both desktop and mobile versions.
The website combined HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to craft a visually stunning and interactive online presence. PHP orchestrated the backend operations, handling data management and database connectivity through MySQL, ensuring robustness and scalability. Gulp and SCSS played pivotal roles, refining the development workflow by automating tasks, optimising stylesheets, and enhancing performance, resulting in a website that showcases the agency's work and delivers a high-performance digital experience.
Project Outcome
The rebranding initiative resulted in a transformative shift for Studio One, conveying a contemporary image and reflecting consistency in brand representation across physical and digital touchpoints. The work done elevated brand recognition and attracted a wider audience, fostering new partnerships and opportunities for the agency.
